Sleep-Wake Polysomnographic EEG

PsychoGenics offers polysomnographic EEG or Sleep-EEG, which measures impaired sleep continuity, disinhibition of REM sleep and changes of non-REM (NREM) sleep and wakefulness and can be applied to the study of CNS active molecules and animal models of CNS disorders including depression and anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, PTSD, and more.

To determine sleep stages (active wake, quiet waking, NREM and REM) we record EEG, EMG (electromyography), and movement or activity levels and employ a variety of methods including rule based methods (i.e. Theta/delta power ratio) or clustering based methods (Gaussian mixture model classification) as well as manual sleep-stage scoring.
